That's the big agnostic/atheist argument. Christians claim that these things happen because people have free will; however, true Christians have faith and try not to sin - that is what I have been taught to believe. I don't mean disrespect or anything but this is what I wonder:
What is so great about Heaven? This everlasting unchanging paradise? Isn't it the lack of something that makes humans desire it? If you were always given happiness, wouldn't you long for some drama?

i have been questioning god for sometime.
i have been brought up in an extremely religious household.
and what i have learned is that...
he allows these things to happen to tests and help those around him.
my friend andrew died of cancer this past year.
before his 18th birthday.
he was diagnosed and died within 6 months.
i was so angry at god that i stopped beliving in him.
and i still am having a hard time grasping the concept of god.
but what i have come to understand is that.
he is putting us in that position to test our faith.
we can either run away from him, and he will allow it.
or we can get closer to us, its our choice.
he does not do it to punish us, or the person who it is happening to.
but through Andrew's death i saw how many lifes he touched.
in his friends, family, and the nurses and doctors in the hospital.
that in itself was a testimony of what god is doing...
i hope i helped a little.
i am still trying to figure things out.

Have you ever played this sims game? It's really a fun game. Sometimes when you get bored you have fun with the sims and kind of ruin their lives. You can make them do almost anything you want. You can lock them in a room and make them starve to death; you can put a diving board on cement and make them jump off of it. You can make a sims like miserable and other sims can have everything. Some of them are living a lie with the simple cheats you can do. Can you see god sitting on a cloud in the sky just playing one very big, complicated sims game where each sims represents a person? We are only the pieces on god's chess bored! Some are more important then others. This is my opinion. [MusicKeepsMeSane]
